Do you cringe when asking for what you are worth from clients?

As a coach, you want to help people on their journey to happiness, success and fulfillment. But, when the time comes to talk about money, do you cringe, get nervous and wish someone else could take care of it (maybe the money fairies would bring you money while you sleep instead of having to take it from your clients)?

If this sounds familiar, first know you are not alone; a lot of coaches feel this way. However, this feeling is creating a huge block in your success. Therefore, it’s time to dive in to this and really look at why you feel this way and how to change it.

Why Does Money Get Such A Bad Rap?

In our society, most people have a love/hate relationship with money. Generally, people want more of it, yet secretly curse people who have a lot of it and think they are greedy. Uh oh. We have a little bit of a dilemma here.

Having It All: Truth Or Just-A-Dream Entrepreneurs Tell Themselves?

Recently I had a great conversation with a client of mine, Lisa*, who was so excited about how her business is moving forward at the perfect rate. She is getting things done, new clients are rolling into her new programs at her new rates and life is just wonderful.

About an hour or so after our call, I received an email from her, “Jennifer, the truth is I feel like I’m not balancing things well. The house is not as organized and down time is not happening.”

Does this sound familiar?

The truth is...

I Don 't Know How She Does It

An Experiment: Can you really get more done by doing less?

Over the last year I have been testing out a new way of working: “Do Less To Get More Done.” I had heard of this concept many times before, however, it wasn’t until 2013 when I really started to put this into practice (most of the time… I’m a work-in-progress like everyone!).

Here’s what I had to learn:

  • trust
  • make decisions faster
  • say “No” a lot more
  • let go
  • did I mention, trust?
  • delegate
  • stop

For most entrepreneurs, who are “doers”, this concept is foreign. We live in a culture that celebrates hard work, persistence and “go, go, go!” Realistically, that is how a lot of success has happened for a lot of people. But I began to ponder: Is there a better way, really

After years of running myself ragged, I decided it was time to find out.

Are You Available For The Success You Really Desire?

Often times we are working towards whatever success means to us. As self-help coaches, we are also helping our clients towards that same endeavour. However, we know that deep down, ultimately, they are the ones who are responsible for their success. No matter how great of a coach you are, if someone doesn’t do the work (physical and/or non-physical), there is little you can do to help them.

The same of course, applies to us and our dreams and ambitions. We are the ones who are ultimately responsible for our success.

Recently, I had an experience where I heard the affirmation, ‘Be Available’.

It spurred so many thoughts in my head and I knew this was a powerful statement…
