In honour of my father, J. Wayne Trask who passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2013, this week’s, Magic of Marketing is coming to you via text instead of video.
My father was an exceptional human being. He was the kind of person who, when he walked into the room, you were happy it was him. Dad always had a smile on his face; he also found the positive side of any situation.
During the last week of his life, a friend of mine who had lost her dad suggested that I write a letter to my dad about what he meant to me and read it to him before he passes. I thought that was good advice. When I sat down to collect my thoughts, instead of a letter, a top 10 list appeared.
I took the opportunity to share this list with you today because I feel that it represents the core of who Dad was and it truly is a list of life lessons that can create a very fulfilling and happy life.
Here it is. I trust you’ll find wisdom here as I have for so many years.

We all know that as an entrepreneur, the most precious commodity we have is our time. We need to know how to master our time, so that we can maximize our output.
Let me ask you a question; do you ever experience this type of week?
You are fluttering around busy as a bee. There seems to be no time for anything because you are just so “busy”. All the sudden, it’s Friday and you look at your to do list and realize that your biggest project hasn’t even been touched yet.
You wonder to yourself, “How did that happen? I have been SO busy all week!”

OK, it’s time we get down to business. This is a pretty bold statement for a blog post however I was seriously inspired when I came up the idea for this one.
So many self-help coaches out there are SO awesome at what they do. They have the ability to create massive change in the world with their gifts yet, why do so many of them not have enough clients or are under-serving with their own gifts?
Then, it came to me, “Ah-ha! I know why!”
Because their marketing sucks!! But, the more important question is, why does their marketing suck?
