How To Stop Saying, “There’s Not Enough Money” And ‘There’s Not Enough Time’ (And Really Mean It)

Do you find yourself saying,‘There’s not enough money” or “There’s not enough time” quite often? If so, this post is for you because it is time to eliminate these phrases from your vocabulary because we both know, they are not serving you!

The first way we begin to eliminate these sentences from your vocabulary is to know that they are meme’s. In simple terms, a meme is a thought that has spread beyond two or more people that is now a belief.

At some point in time you heard the meme, ‘There’s not enough time’ or ‘there’s not enough money’ and you believed it. Therefore you began to experience more of it in your reality because you get what you believe whether you want it or not.

For those who believe the opposite, that there is more than enough time and there is more than enough money… guess what? They have more than enough time and more than enough money!!

Next, you need to go backwards for minute.

If you have had one or both of these meme’s in your experience for a while, then you can look back on your life and realize that even as you made more money, you still felt like there’s not enough.

For example, let’s say at some point in time you were making $50,000/year. Then a few years later your income had doubled and now you make $100,000/year. Clearly there is more money. However, because you have this belief that there is never enough money, you still feel the same way at $100,000/year and you find a way to spend the money AND you find more things you want that you can’t have because ‘there’s never enough money’.

The same thing happens with time. No matter how much more time freedom you have, you always feel like, ‘there’s not enough time’, because you have this belief, not because there’s enough time.

This is the problem.

It’s important to recognize that changing our life circumstances (making more money or gaining more time freedom) isn’t going to change our problem because the belief is the problem, not the circumstances.

The beliefs need to change first and then we will see what is already in our reality - more than enough time and more than enough money.

Acknowledging this and realizing that it is not a universal truth that there is not enough money or not enough time is so important. You have more time… you have it right now, right now and right now. Each second is more time. There’s more money being printed right now, right now and right now.

It’s not that there is a lack of time or money, it is your perception of it.

When you begin to shift your focus to the most important things in your life versus all of the stuff that would be ‘nice to have’ or ‘nice to get done’, then you can begin to appreciate what is already there. What you appreciate, appreciates. Therefore, when you begin to consciously appreciate the time you do have and the money you do have, it will begin to expand in your experience.

--->Being focused on the lack of time or money is exactly what is perpetuating your ability to receive more of it. <---

For example, when you are trying to grow your business, there are a million and one ways to market your business. Especially when you are new and you are trying new things, it is so easy to get shiny object syndrome. You’re on Facebook, doing ads, making webinars, trying to get press, tweeting, snapchatting, going on Facebook live… it’s seems endless!

The problem with all of this is that you spread yourself too thin and then guess what? There’s not enough time to do it all! But if you decide, I’m going to do these three things and I’m going quality over quantity on these three things, then you’ll be able to deliver them with precision and awesomeness.

Then you look at your budget and say, what is my budget? Out of my options, what is the best way to maximize this budget? Do the same thing here… focus on what you decide and anything new that comes up put to the side until you are finished with what you are already doing. That way you can focus on maximizing what you already have instead of being focused on what you do not have.

Then as you bring more money in, you can build on top of the success you’re having and expand as you are ready.

By focusing on what you already have and what you can do with that time and budget, now you are appreciating what you have and that can bring you more of it.

Give yourself permission to let go of the things that are not your priority. As the late, great Stephen Covey once said:

“Keep the main thing, the main thing.”

There’s more than enough time and money to get everything that is really important to you. But first you must appreciate what is in front of you. Once you learn how to maximize the money and time that you already have, then you will be able to continue to maximize more of it and then you get what we call, leverage!

That is all you need to do. Don’t overcomplicate your life by trying to be all things to all people, by trying to invest in every program, event and opportunity. Get selective and make your priorities, your priorities.

Focus on what matters.

Make your priorities.

Make your musts.

Maximize your current resources.

... then get ready for MORE!

Because the universe will bring you more resources in time and money because that is what you are now focused on!! YES!

Lastly… I want to give you a challenge:

Take one of your priorities that you need to do. However much time you think it’s going to take you, take 25% of the time off it. For example, if you think it’s going to take you 2 hours, give yourself 90 minutes instead. Then, turn off ALL distractions and go hard with it. I bet you will find that with ZERO distractions, you can really focus and get more done in less time… because you know what? There’s more than enough time!

You know what is fun about that? Then you end up having more time for the little things that always seem to fall by the wayside.

Now, I’d love to hear from you. Are you willing to try this new thinking? Have you discovered something that helps you get rid of these mantras? If so, comment below and let us know!
