Here's Why You Don't Need To Work Harder To Earn More & Grow Your Business

A lot of coaches, especially the news ones are already working really hard for not much. I hear it all the time that they set their income level goals low because they are afraid that they will have to work too hard to get it (I did this myself so I know it well!)

If you are reading this you are probably an entrepreneur and you know that I am not talking about the people who aren't doing much. I am talking about the people who are already working that great work ethic of theirs and can’t fathom losing anymore sleep to make a little bit more money.

If that’s you, get ready. You’re going to like this.

The truth is, you don’t have to lose your whole life to gain success. It’s not a ‘work harder’ deal. I’m sure you already have a great work ethic and while you do need a good work ethic, you don’t need to work harder. Here’s how to easily see this in action.

Take a look around the world and you’ll notice that there are A LOT of people working really hard. People are quite extraordinary and there are a lot of them who are truly giving it their all.

---> If everyone is working hard, the question then becomes, how come they are all yielding different results?

How come some entrepreneurs are barely making minimum wage working 12 hours/day and some are making 6 or 7 figures working the same amount of time?

Even if working more hours helps you make more in the short run, the reality is that that it is not a long term solution. You will eventually burn out. Therefore, if you want to make more you’ve got to ask yourself: what is the difference between two entrepreneurs working the same time but getting different results?

As you can see it isn’t working harder or more time that makes the difference.

The difference is how you are using time.

It’s about working smarter and getting leverage.

If you want to make more money in your business, you just need to gain some new knowledge and apply it. Remember, you don’t know what you don’t know and that is the reason you are stuck!

Imagine this: You are climbing a mountain and there are four break stations on that mountain. At each break station you are a little higher in elevation so you begin to see more of your surroundings. By the time you get to the top of the mountain on the fourth break station you can now see for miles and miles around. There are no other mountain peaks in your way blocking your view.

This is what getting leverage is like in your business. You can only see what you see from the first break station. You don’t know what the view is like from the 2nd, 3rd or 4th station yet. Therefore, you know that when you hit those stations you will have a different vantage point. In business that translates to making smarter decisions that get you more leverage.

That is exactly how you work smarter and not harder.

There are two main ways to get leverage:

1. Through Alignment

This is about getting happy. If you are constantly in a state of stress, friction, distress, lack, etc. then you aren’t working from a space of expansion, abundance, love, joy and happiness that brings you the great ideas, the synchronicity’s, the viral content, the great headline, the chance meeting with your next client, etc.

I’m sure you can recall when you lost track of time with something and you got lost in it, right? That’s because you were in alignment. You were doing something you loved and time didn’t matter. You lost track of it. That’s the alignment I am talking about. When you can work from a state of alignment, your work becomes so much easier and stronger.

This happens to me often on coaching calls. Sometimes they can be 2 hours long and we are both wondering how the heck 2 hours passed so quickly! That my friends, is alignment!

2. Taking Inspired Action From Alignment

This is the second way you get leverage. When you act from alignment all of the sudden...

  • you pick up the next book you are suppose to read that is going to help you streamline your business
  • you meet your next client unexpectedly at a coffee shop
  • you run in to that old contact who has a new position in a company who was looking for a speaker on your topic
  • you had an idea for a great article and you post it and it goes viral
  • you suddenly have more courage to approach people or do tasks that you wouldn’t have done before
  • you take bigger risks and begin to think bigger

This is what happens when you are in a state of alignment and you begin to take consistent action from there versus taking action from a state of fear, lack and disbelief.

These are the leverage points you need to begin to see where the next step is. Whether you need to learn Facebook Ads, hire on a VA, get a mindset coach, learn marketing strategy or learn how to become a better speaker… whatever it is, the universe will deliver the best vehicle for you to take that next logical step when you are in alignment.

This is exactly how you don’t need to work harder, you just need to get in alignment and then some gain some leverage in the form of inspired action and next steps. In fact, for some people reading this, you may need to slow down a bit so that you can get into alignment. Try working a little less for the next week and relax. Go get yourself happy and feeling good and then work on your business.

You will always get more done in less time when you work from alignment (or what some call, ‘flow’).

I hope that this has given you a chance to let some weight off your shoulders. I know this is a deep topic for a lot of people.
