Marketing Strategy For After The Networking #1 - Snail Mail Follow Up
Yes, you read that right. In the day and age of email, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter, if you want to stand out, it’s pretty easy to do so just by going back to an old tradition that has *almost* been forgot about, snail mail.
When you get back from a networking event pick 2-3 people whom you really connected with, felt inspired by or would just like to get to know better and send them a ‘nice to meet you’ handwritten card. You can even stamp it with your favourite stamps if you are into that kind of thing. ;)
Send them a card and let them know what a great experience you had meeting them. You can even ask them to coffee or lunch if you want to take it to the next level. Your new friend will be blown away by your thoughtful consideration. I bet yours will be the only card they get from that event!
Marketing Strategy For After The Networking #2 - Social Media Follow Up
You know I can’t leave this one out. We are so lucky to live in a day and age where it is so easy to ‘network’ online with people and take that relationship to the next level. Make sure you take advantage of this simple and easy step.
Once you add them don’t forget to network with them by checking in once or twice a week on their status, articles shared, etc.

Marketing Strategy For After The Networking #3- Ask One Person To Lunch
An excellent way to get out of your comfort zone (life happens there, right?), and expand your network is to ask someone who intimidates you slightly but whom you really admire and want to get to know better, to lunch.
When you are at this lunch, take the time to ask them all about them. Learn their story, what moves them, what challenges them and how they overcome it. You will learn so much and you will be very proud of yourself for getting out of your comfort zone and taking a relationship to the next level.
